If it were easy there would be others to chose from. The challenge of building one wrapper that works with software produced by 40 or more different developers, who could not be bothered rewriting their product as a 64 bit Cocoa app, should not be underestimated. Now in the current V2 version there are no spikes and memory usage for VB3 wrapped is between 25% and 30%, down from 140% with V1.0.0 ![]() The memory issue was 90% solved however I would still get spikes when VB3 was first selected. They were extremely responsive and I beta tested up to the 1.0.8. I and maybe others, reported these to Sound Radix. There certainly were memory usage issues in V1.0.0. ![]() Otherwise it remains inactive using zero memory until you load a wrapped VI. Thereafter 32 lives is only activated if you load a concert or project that has a 32 Lives wrapped VI in it. If 32 Lives hadn't wrapped them they wouldn't be 'seen' and available to load. 32 Lives is an application capable of generating a 64-bit Audio Units versions of your loved and hard-earned 32-bit legacy plug-ins, helping you to cross-over. Then when you open your DAW/VI host, MainStage in my case, these 32 bit AU/VST are now listed under available AU's. On first install the full version of 32 Lives scans for all supported 32 bit VI's. Just didn't like the way it hit the CPU also, it opened up an icon with the plug in wrapped in it for every VST that I instantiated.took up lots of unnecessary space in my dock plus it slowed computer down. I tried it and immediately dumped it after the first time the demo surfaced up. I next had the joy of it taking several reboots before my 6TB library drive could be seen - an ongoing problem with El Capitan. But at least it stays in the same directory, at the file you are looking at.Īfter replacing from Time Machine, one has to reboot (rather than simply restart Audio MIDI Setup) for your devices to be seen again. 32 Lives is compatible with virtually all 64-bit Audio Units and VST host applications, including Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Li. The rather fuzzy and unmarked arrow keys to the right are the ones to use to actually go to a different snapshot. 32 Lives is a transparent 32-bit to 64-bit Audio Units and VST plug-ins adapter, which enables you to run your favorite 32-bit-only plug-ins, such as Vanguard, VB3 and TC PowerCore plug-ins, in your latest 64-bit DAW. I hadn't had to use Time Machine since upgrading to El Capitan a few months back. The next trick was to properly restore an earlier version, as I kept clicking on "behind" windows in Time Machine, not realizing that just refreshes what you already see and is just a "Time is the Fourth Dimension" decoration so to speak. The Audio MIDI Setup MIDI Configuration file is suffixed ".mcfg" and found under your user name account on the Mac, in "./Library/Audio/MIDI Configurations".
